Grassy mounds are a wonderful natural play feature; who doesn’t want to roll down a hill! But they are so popular that wear and tear becomes an issue, bare earth can quickly become a mud slide and look tatty. Astroturf laid over a compacted subbase is the alternative; it provides the same play value, looks amazing, will not wear away and keeps children clean.
We have developed our own construction technique to create mounds, amphitheatres and landforms of all shapes and sizes. Mounds are also really good way to retain a loose materials such as sand or woodchip.
