2022 so far has been busy for Green Play working with the Forestry Commission and have recently provided repair work and new play equipment for: Jeskyns Community Woodland, Bedgebury, Haldon Forest Park and Beechenhurst.
At Beechenhurst in the heart of the Forest of Dean we built a non prescriptive climbing structure using natural shaped robinia poles that have been debarked and sanded to create a smooth surface. Attached to the poles at a variety of heights off the ground are a large number of high and low level beams, with a scramble net, balance ropes, climbing holds and foot notches. There are many entry and exit points to this piece of play equipment and various ways of traversing which allows it to be used by a large number of children at the same time. The uneven surface of the poles and beams increase the level of challenge and test decision making and coordination skills.
A new bespoke 30m timber zip wire to replace the existing structure. The design is inspired by the mining history of the area, compliments the natural feel of the space and echos the current structure.
