Lee Valley White Water Centre was built for the canoe slalom events at the London 2012 Olympic Games. It opened to the public in April 2011 and reopened post Olympics in September 2012 and has in that time established itself as a popular white water rafting destination.
Green Play Project won a design and build tender to create an engaging and enjoyable children’s play area at Lee Valley White Water Centre to be popular with a market of young families with children aged between 2 and 6 years old.
The brief was to provide a low maintenance play area that reflected the theme of the venue. We have created a space that aims to take children on a thrilling adventure along the white water river rapids through a series of engaging and open ended play elements such as logs, islands and rafts.
