Our Team

Green Play Project is made up of a diverse team of landscape architects, product designers, artists, carpenters, landscapers and metalworkers. With our extensive experience of designing for play, we are well equipped to create a wide range of playscapes and structures that enhance the landscape, environment and experience of children and adults alike. We work from our Bristol based studio and workshop, but build playgrounds all over the UK. 

The majority of our team are parents to kids ranging from toddlers to grown ups, and some are very much still big kids themselves! So we know what children want and need; we observe play, we ask questions and we listen to the wild and wonderful ideas only children can come up with.

How we began

Director Simon Jackman started his working life as a self-employed Landscape Gardener in domestic and public sectors. He formed Green Play Project in 2009 with the desire to build playful landscapes using natural materials and innovative designs. Driven by a passion to inspire children to spend more time outdoors and grow up with a love of nature, Simon has grown the business to work across many sectors and to be a trusted provider of bespoke natural play spaces and equipment.

Innovation is at the heart of what Green Play Project do; we are always exploring new ways of creating inspiring play environments, whilst drawing on the foundations of play theory and practices.

Passion for Play

Creativity, quality and a genuine love for what we do is at the heart of every project we work on. Our passionate team of designers, skilled carpenters and experienced landscape builders work together to bring our imaginative, natural playgrounds to life.

In our Bristol-based workshop, our design team crafts every concept with creativity, care and a deep understanding of how children play and explore. They work closely with our talented carpenters, who transform these ideas into beautifully handcrafted components using high-quality, sustainable materials. Once a design is ready to come to life, our expert landscape team takes over, bringing precision, practicality and a deep respect for outdoor spaces to every on-site build.

From the initial sketches to the final installation, we maintain a seamless collaboration between workshop and site, ensuring every playground is not only visually inspiring, but also built to the highest standards of quality, durability and safety.

Our combined expertise allows us to create unique, nature-inspired play spaces that are crafted with care, built to last and made to spark joy.
