The Outwoods

The Outwoods playground is part of 110 acres of ancient woodland and part of The National Forest lying to the south of Loughborough. Also on this site is a Cafe, car park and toilets. These facilities provide families with a perfect base to leave the car and explore the woodlands. We designed a woodland play space with bespoke play elements. Natural elements provide a wide range of play options, opportunity to explore risk and challenge, and is suitable for all ages and abilities.

We used round poles to create dens, climbing frames, balance beams and monkey bars. The tallest den is built around an oak tree and provides a sheltered vantage point. Woodchip provides a natural safety surface in keeping with the woodland location, whilst the level rubber mulch surface allows for DDA accessibility to key play items. We also designed and built a large shelter for community and private events.
