A marble run is a wet weather or winter attraction as it can be played in any weather conditions. Being made of timber that swells and shrinks it will have different play properties in dry weather and wet weather.
Dwell time
Using marble runs as a trail will encourage visitors to walk further and pass though previously quieter parts of the site.
It will also increase dwell time as visitors will stay longer at each point to repeat the play experience several times before moving on. Extending the dwell time has the added benefit of increasing food and beverage sales and car parking revenue.
